Petitenget Beach is a lovely beach with nice seascapes and calm atmosphere. This is a long arch of gray sand beach that seems endless. You can enjoy the sound of the waves, cool sea breeze and beautiful reflection on wet sand. This place provides an opportunity for relaxation, escape to the peace and tranquility.
The beach is situated in Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali. This spot is easily accessible by car and less than an hour from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Drive north to Kerobokan through the Jl. Sunset Road, and then continue to the Jl. Kayu Aya. Follow this road until you see the sacred temple, Pura Petitenget and the beach is right in front of it.
There is big parking so you can park easily. Visitors are only charged a low parking fee and can go directly to the beach trough the candi bentar and a small bridge. But you have to buy a ticket to enter the sacred temple.
The parking area is quite shady and many cafes, restaurants, local food-stalls, also souvenir shops. You can take a rest, tasting some local culinary or looking for unique souvenirs. There are also many hotels, resorts and villas if you decide to stay overnight. At weekends it is usually crowded by locals.
There is a sacred Balinese temple, the Pura Petitenget. “Peti" means a storage box, while "tenget" means sacred, so the "Petitenget" means a sacred box. This is one of the important temples with beautiful traditional architecture. This temple is said to be related to the journey of a holy priest, Dang Hyang Nirartha.
Petitenget beach also hosted several Balinese customary rituals such as: Melasti ceremony, Ngangkid, Mulang Pekelem, Nangluk Merana, etc. This can be really crowded during the ceremony, narrow and difficult to parking. The Petitenget Festival was held in 2018, which presents many cultural attractions.
It is located on the West Coast of Bali, inline with Kuta and Jimbaran, but is quieter and fewer hawkers. There is a small stream and beach swing with double seats that attract everyone, great spot for taking some photos. Less sun bed, parasol or loud music, and people can lay on the sand.
A good spot for sunbathing, but not recommended for swimming due to strong wave and sometimes can be very dangerous. Great view to Jimbaran Bay and the airport. You can see planes landing and take off in the distance.
This is a fun weekend getaway, nice place to chilling, hangouts, beach soccer, flying kite, picnic and great view for beachside jog. This is a nice beach to play with kids.
Here is hot during the day, so it would be better to visit in the morning or afternoon. The beach is also blessed with a breathtaking sunset. The colorful clouds along with golden reflection on sea water and cool sea breeze create a romantic vibe. You can walk for miles along the coast and savor this bliss.
