Semawang Beach Bali
The beach is located in Sanur, just between Duyung Beach and Mertasari Beach, in South Denpasar, Denpasar City, Bali. It is only 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Air Port. Drive east to Sanur via the Bali Mandara Toll Road. Then take the Jl. Kusuma Sari, follow this street, and you have found it.
This beach is situated amid the peaceful and well-developed environment, and also supported with various facilities such as: hotel and resorts, villas, restaurants, spa, souvenir shops and more. Parking is available and this spot is easily accessible by car, but more visitors use motor bike for flexibility.
There is a nice beach footpath sheltered by hardwood canopies, perfect for morning walks, beachside jogs, bike rides, or shelter during hot days. Spending the morning here is amazing with the calm atmosphere, fresh air, blue sea, and also on a nice weather you can see Mount Agung and GWK from a distance.
At certain times there is often a lot of sea-grass drifted away and piled up on the sand. This is natural, especially for beaches with sea-grass ecosystems. Even so, the beach is still great and lovely. Thanks to the efforts of citizens and other stakeholders who are always trying to create a clean and comfortable atmosphere for us, really deserve appreciation!
This coast has beautiful coral reefs, and the presence of sea-grass (Enhalus acoroides) on the sandy bed has created a highly diverse and productive ecosystem. It attracts a lot of fish, turtles, crabs, sea star, mollusks and other marine life. Many traditional boats also fast boats anchored on the beach, always ready to take you to the spot for fishing, snorkeling, and diving.
During the holiday season and weekend, this spot is always crowded, especially by locals. This is indeed a suitable beach for hang outs and fun picnic. Here the sea water is calm, small waves and shallow, safe for children to swim, play sand or explore during low tide.
This spot also has soft and thick sand, perfect for sunbathing. Deck chair and parasol are also available, you can lie back while enjoying the panorama and the cool sea breeze. You can swim and snorkel off the beach. Try to dip your toes into sea water, felt so good and fresh!
If you want to try more exciting activities, you can rent swim ring float, canoe, Jet Ski, or kite surfing. After that you can enjoy a relaxing beach massage. You can spend all day here and try the delicious local dish, grilled fish, and fresh coconut at the beach-side cafe, enjoy the view out to sea and waiting for sunset.
