Watu Klotok Beach is a beautiful black sand beach, wrapped in the beauty of the peaceful coastal environment, rice fields and lush green vegetation. You can enjoy views of the Bali Mountains, Blue Sea, and a direct view to Nusa Penida. Visitors who come here will be amazed by the beautiful seascape and calm atmosphere.
This beach is located in Tojan Village, Klungkung Regency, Bali. The Beach is easily reached by car. It's just about an hour (41 km) in normal traffic. From the Ngurah Rai International Airport take the Bali Mandara Toll Road up to the Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra Road and then drive to the Klotok Beach Street and you have found the beach.
The location of this beach is quite strategic so that visitors can access several tourist attractions such as: Keramas Beach, Lebih Beach, Klungkung Palace, Kerta Gosa, Semarajaya Museum, Kamasan, Goa Lawah, Kusamba, and East Bali Region.
Many locals looking for gravel and pebble, which they call "Batu Sikat". There are parking lot facilities and food stalls (warung) selling snacks and soft drinks. Visitors come here for spiritual purposes, fishing, or just enjoy the scenery and calm atmosphere.
Walk along the sandy path, enjoying the cool sea breeze touching your skin, frolic along the frothy edge, while enjoying the stunning views of the coast, blue sea and romantic sunset. It is not recommended for swimming due to the big and strong waves.
Finding the perfect waves is the goal of many surfers who come here. This secret point beach offers big swell and long wall. This beach is recommended for professional and expert surfer. From here, surfers can access some other spots like Keramas and Ketewel.
There is Watu Klotok Temple, one of the key temple of Bali built by Mpu Kuturan. He is one of the spiritual figures and also holy priest, who contribute greatly in the social life of Balinese society. He went to Bali and arrived at Teluk Padang (Padang Bai), in 923 caka or 1001 AD.
The piodalan ceremony in the temple is held every 6 (six) months at Anggara Kasih Julungwangi and once a year at Purnama Kalima (Ngusaba).
This temple became one of the places for Hindus to perform praying. During the execution of big ceremonies such as Eka Dasa Rudra and Panca Wali Krama in Besakih Temple, this place became the destination of Pesucian ritual and Mulang Pekelem ritual.
