Padang Galak Beach is famous for its great morning views endowed with romantic sunrise. The revetment is built along the coast to reduce the abrasion impact. On this revetment also built tracks, really suitable for walks while enjoy the sunrise and surrounding views.
This beach can be reached through Jalan Pantai Padang Galak, at Kesiman, East Denpasar, Bali. Visitors can use private vehicles, with good road access. It can also be done with Trans Sarbagita public transport on Corridor Batubulan - Nusa Dua PP. The stop is located on the main road, continued with short-walk to the beach. The environment is quite evolving and even the roads lead directly to the beach. These reduce the risk of getting lost.
Visitors are only charged for parking fee. There is no time limit for visitors to enjoy the beach atmosphere. Visitors can bring along children and families. There are couples of food stalls and supporting facilities such as parking, cleanliness, and park bench. Around this place there are also villas and inns, so visitors who plan to stay can access this beach closer.
This place offers a charm black sandy beach, vast ocean view, East Balinese mountains, direct view to Nusa Penida, farmland, and lovely sunrise. In the south, there is a field used for kite festival.
The festival is routinely held during the wind season around July to August. The sky will be decorated by beautiful kites, various shapes, colors, and sizes.
While in the north, Pura Campuhan Windhu Segara and Pura Dalem Segara Taman Ayung stand magnificently and really mystical. This is an estuary or "campuhan" in Balinese, a mixing area between the Yeh Ayung River and the Padang Galak Beach.
People come to this place for worship, doing the purification (ruatan), Nyegara Gunung ceremony and more. Visitors can walk on the track, enjoy the scenery, cool sea breeze, the peaceful atmosphere at the both temples.
Other than the breathtaking view and romantic sunrise, this beach is also blessed with great waves for surfing activities. This surf point has been known since long ago as one of the best surf spots with great and powerful wave. This spot is also close to many surf spots such as Keramas, Lembeng, Sanur and more. This spot is less than crowded and recommended for experienced up to pro surfers. The best time to surf here is during the wet season.
