Melasti Beach Ungasan is one of the new beach attractions in Bali. This beach has a magnificent aerial view and blue ocean. It can be seen start from the paved road before turning to the beach and also through the stairs leading to the small hill above.
You will pass the paved path alongside the cut slope leading to the sandy beach below. It is a long white sandy beach, clear sea-water, and protected by high cliffs. This is a lovely spot to capture the moment, even for pre-wedding photography purposes.
This beach is located on the southern coastline of Bukit Peninsula, precisely in Ungasan Village, district of South Kuta, Badung - Bali. Due to still in the setting up process (June, 2017) the beach is relatively quiet and serene, few facilities and less shade.
Existing facilities such as parking, toilets, small gazebo and permanent buildings for the purposes of visitors and also used during the ceremony.
There is a long pier (limestone outcrop), used for the purposes of Melasti Ceremony (a ceremony before the Nyepi Day, Balinese came to the beach for the purification of body, soul and the sacred artifacts).
From the beach, the pier does not look special. But as you walk up to the end, you will realize that this is the best spot to enjoy the beauty of high cliffs with green vegetation, long beaches, rolling waves, cool sea breeze, and sunset.
Feel the big white splash breaks the rocks at the tip of the pier. From this point you can also enjoy the aerial perspective of the west high cliffs with magnificent gradation.
If observed, looks like this beach is divided into several parts, the east (on the right and left of the pier), the middle (the gate and Pura Segara), and the west (in the Wanara statue) which is still natural.
This beach is the best spot for swimming, sunbathing, strolling and pre-wedding photoshoot. There are small caves or niches on limestone cliffs to take shelter.
In the afternoon, this beach becomes cooler and blanketed by a romantic sunset atmosphere. When the low tide, there are natural mini pools for soaking on the beach. Many traditional fishing boats moored here and become great spot for local anglers.
