Pura Segara Tegalwangi is perched atop the high cliff and overlooking the blue ocean. This temple is located in Desa Adat Jimbaran, the district of South Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali.
This place is still very natural and has not been touched by the tourism industry. Tegalwangi is derived from word "tegal" means garden, and "wangi" means fragrant, so "tegalwangi" means a fragrant garden. Plain and simple!
Pura Segara Tegalwangi
Located on the edge of the sea, the temple is blessed with stunning views, big boulders, steep cliffs, and is surrounded by hard woods and lush vegetation.
Not only that, there is also a "hidden beach" located at the bottom of the steep cliff. This beach is called Tegal Wangi Beach, taken from the name of this place (^^).
From the cliff top, visitors can see the blue-green water with curling waves hitting the pristine beach. Along with the cool sea breeze that refresh your energy.
In addition to the pleasant atmosphere, the existence of Pura Segara Tegalwangi also implies high spiritual values. This "sea temple' also serves as a place for Melasti Ceremony. The local will carry sacred objects (pratima or pralingga) and sacred artifacts for purification, followed by prayer during this purification ceremony.
