Bali is a small island, as well as one of the provinces in Indonesia. Even so, Bali has a wonderful natural beauty and also rich in history and culture. This has made Bali into one of the most popular tourist destinations.
This small island lies between Java and Lombok with an area of about 5,632 Km2, is home to most of Indonesian's Hindu.
This paradise is famed for its arts, painting, traditional and modern dance, sculpture, leather, metalworking and traditional music (gamelan).
Bali Province is divided into Regency or "Kabupaten". The regency is divided administratively into Districts, known as "Kecamatan". The province is divided into eight regencies and one city. These are:
1. Denpasar City was originally the center of a royal city then transformed into a commercial city. Denpasar city becomes the seat of government. Denpasar is divided into four districts, consist of: South Denpasar, East Denpasar, West Denpasar, and North Denpasar. The main attractions of Denpasar are Sanur, Puri Pemecutan, Puputan, Bajra Sandhi Monument, Blanjong Inscription, Badung Market, Kumbasari Market, Bali Museum, Le Mayeur Museum, Jagatnata Temple, Maospait Temple and Serangan Island.
2. Badung Regency is growing as a tourist destination. Its regency seat is in Mangupura. Badung covered six districts: South Kuta, Kuta, North Kuta, Mengwi, Abiansemal, and Petang. The main attractions of Badung Regency are Taman Ayun, Sangeh, Pelaga Village, Tukad Bangkung Bridge, Nung Nung Waterfall, Canggu, Uluwatu Temple, Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Kuta, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Bukit Peninsula.
3. Bangli Regency is the only regency in Bali which is landlocked. However, Bangli is home to the largest lake in Bali, Lake Batur, which irrigates agricultural areas in South Bali. Its regency seat is in Bangli.
The regency is divided into four districts, consist of: Susut, Bangli, Tembuku, and Kintamani.
The main attractions of Bangli Regency are Lake Batur, Mount Batur, Trunyan Village, Kintamani Coffee, Batur Geopark Museum, Toya Bungkah Hot Spring, Ulun Danu Batur Temple, Kehen Temple, Puncak Penulisan Temple, and Penglipuran Village.
4. Buleleng Regency is a complete area, has mountains, mainland, lake, and North Sea of Bali. Its seat is Singaraja. Buleleng covered nine districts, consist of: Gerokgak, Seririt, Busung Biu, Banjar, Sukasada, Buleleng, Sawan, Kubutambahan, and Tejakula. The attractions in Buleleng Regency are Lovina, Kalibukbuk, Buyan Lake, Tamblingan Lake, Gitgit Waterfall, Banjar Hot Spring, Menjangan Island, and West Bali National Park.
5. Gianyar Regency is an area that holds a source of inspiration for the development of art and culture. Its seat is Gianyar. Gianyar covered seven districts: Sukawati, Blahbatuh, Gianyar, Tampaksiring, Ubud, Tegallalang, and Payangan. The major attractions of Gianyar Regency are Ubud, Sukawati, Batubulan, Keramas Beach, Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Pura Pegulingan, Yeh Pulu, Goa Gajah, Gunung Kawi, and Tirta Empul.
6. Jembrana Regency is a district located on the west side of Bali Island. Its regency seat is Negara.
The regency covered five districts: Melaya, Negara, Jembrana, Mendoyo, and Pekutatan.
The main attractions of Jembrana Regency are Rambut Siwi, Perancak, Medewi Beach, Gilimanuk Port, Palasari Reservoir, Benel Reservoir, Bunut Bolong, and Delod Berawah.
7. Karangasem Regency is a district located on the east side of Bali Island. Its regency seat is Amlapura. Karangasem covered eight districts, consist of: Rendang, Sidemen, Manggis, Karangasem, Abang, Bebandem, Selat, and Kubu. The main attractions of Karangasem Regency are Mt Agung, Besakih Temple, Bukit Jambul, Goa Lawah, Padang Bay, Candidasa, Tanganan, Lempuyang Temple, Taman Ujung, Amed, and Tulamben.
8. Klungkung Regency is the smallest regency on Bali and also has three offshore islands (Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan). Its seat is Semarapura. Klungkung covered four districts: Banjarangkan, Dawan, Klungkung, and Nusa Penida. The attractions in Klungkung Regency are Kamasan, Kerta Gosa, Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan, and Kusamba Fish Market.
9. Tabanan Regency is superior in agriculture and become the major food suppliers for Bali. Its regency seat is Tabanan.
The regency is divided into ten districts, consist of: Selemadeg, East Selemadeg, West Selemadeg, Kerambitan, Tabanan, Kediri, Marga, Baturiti, Penebel, and Pupuan.
The major attractions of Tabanan Regency are Pura Yeh Gangga, Candi Kuning, Lake Bratan, Ulun Danu Bratan Temple, Bedugul, Tanah Lot, Alas Kedaton, Batukaru, Jatiluwih, and Angseri Hot Spring.
